December was crazy as usual--all the school celebrations and shopping and parties leading up to Christmas. This year though, I seemed to be able to enjoy it all more than usual. Most years I feel like the craziness just gets in the way of being able to really feel the spirit of the season, but this year was really nice.

| Spencer (and Lynnsey and Kaya) participated in the school Christmas music program. We weren't sure if Spencer was going to do it or not because he hated that they had to do some dance steps. But he not only came through, he was the loudest singer! |
| The kids could dress up as a Christmas character. Kendall went for Ralph from A Christmas Story... |
| ...including washing his mouth out with soap! |
| Lynnsey went as an elf. |
| Spencer went as Santa Claus on his day off. |
| Lynnsey got to show off what she's learned so far in band at the winter band concert. (She playing the flute.) |
| Kendall did a fantastic job as first clarinet in the junior high band. He even had a solo part! |
| In all the craziness of fall and winter, Kendall went a very long time without a haircut! (This was taken right before he went and got it cut.) |
| We got the first of many snow storms. |
| The ice on the trees was stunning. |
