Well, we've made it to the end of another school year (already???) and as a part of all the usual end of year craziness, Taylor had his annual academic awards program. This year I believe he got four: one for being on the honor roll all four marking periods, one for language arts, another for social studies, and again for science. This is the best picture I could get of him. Every time he went onto the stage he would strategically place himself in the most impossibly camera un-friendly places. At any rate, we are really proud of all his hard work. Or rather, all his work. I think sometimes things come so easily for him that I'm not sure how "hard" he's actually had to work. I know he passed me up in intelligence a few years ago! In most subjects anyway. He's always asking us questions like "if you could pick any animal from the Mesozoic Era as a pet what would you choose?" And his e-mail password is the name of some obscure dinosaur that even if you knew what is was, you wouldn't be able to spell it. No one will be hacking into his account anytime soon! He's definitely an amazing kid.
The other day I stopped at my Mom's to pick up her mail and check on the cat (while she's away in Utah) and I decided I had to get a picture of her rhododendron shrub (tree? It's big whatever you want to call it). These pictures are ridiculous. They do not even begin to show how amazing it is. It's the kind of thing that makes you slow down if you're driving past just so you can enjoy the view. Seriously beautiful! Spencer wasn't too thrilled at being a model but I wanted to get them on the bench that Jonathan put in on his last trip. These shrubs were actually intertwined with some other kind of shrub and it was pretty overgrown, so Jonathan cleared it all out and then added the bench in the empty spot that remained.

I have to first say congrats to Taylor! I can't believe he is as smart as he is! I find myself with my kids to be very under educated!! I am good with the English still (they tend to find themselves with bad pronunciation, punctuation, spelling, and so on!) The other subjects I find myself to be not so good!
The bush (or shrub) is awesome! I wish the light would have been better but it was nice to look at at any rate!
And then finally, I have to say that your kids are growing like weeds! I can't even think how big Kaya is going to be when I see her in person next!
Great job, Taylor. I was baffled by his intelligence when he was three. No way could I keep up with him now. It will be fun to watch and see what career path he chooses and what he does with his life!
That rhododendron is AMAZING! I had a bush (not massive like that) at my old house and loved it. I should put one in here.
Congrats Taylor!
I would love flowers like that! Beautiful.
