Last fall I posted a penny walk where we attempted to document the breathtaking Michigan colors. Well, if fall is breathtaking, then spring in Michigan is absolutely stunning. We've actually been planning another penny walk for the last several weeks so that we could document the beautiful blossoming trees and flowers that were abounding. Unfortunately the weather would not cooperate and it was too chilly and or rainy to go walking. Finally on Monday for family home evening we decided to go. Sadly, most of the blossoms have disappeared. We managed to catch a few, plus a lot of green. But we definitely love the green and we had a really lovely walk. We tried to get onto campus, but you can't force the penny! (And there is no cheating allowed!) Mostly we ended up on the streets close to home. We did get just on the outskirts of campus, so some of these photos are from there; the kids by the rock pile and the one of Lynnsey on Timothy's back in front of the building where Kalen works are campus photos. The rest are from our neighborhood. Where would a penny take you?

Very pretty! I like the one with Lynnsey smelling the flower the best, she is a very beautiful girl and just adds the the scenery!! Spencer sticking his tongue out is cute also!!
Just so I am clear, what is it exactly that you do on a penny walk?? I am sure that the rules have been expressed to me before but I am unable to remember at the moment!!
So fun! I've meant to do a penny walk since your last post and we STILL haven't done it!
Love all the green. Springtime is so wonderful!
How beautiful! I really love this area of the country. Things are really budding out here. I love the peace that comes from enjoying Heavenly Fathers creations. I love that Penny Walk idea. I am going to introduce it to our family. Thanks for the idea!
It's so pretty there. I really need to take the kiddos on a penny walk. We always end up going on the same route. And I'm sure Lilly would love to have control of the penny. :)
Susannah,
For a penny walk you just flip the coin at each intersection or fork in the road. Heads you go right, tails you go left. We modify it a bit if we come to a spot where we can only go one direction or keep going straight. That's pretty much it. We've seen some really interesting parts of town that I know we'd never walk to intentionally.
Thanks for the instructions, we may have to try that sometime when we are in town. Obviously we wouldn't get very far where we live!! There is going to be a family reunion here in town for all of the cousins, maybe that would be a fun time to try it!!
