I'm not quite sure how we did with it, but under the circumstances, I gave myself a pat on the back for coming up with this stuff in such a pinch.

Lynnsey decided she wanted to go as Laura Ingalls from the Little House series and Kendall went as Geth from the Leven Thumps books.
He showed me a picture of the character in the book and we came up with a VERY similar costume. But since hardly anyone at school has read the Leven Thumps books, most people just thought he was a Jedi.
Lynnsey was trickier. We had to scour her closet for anything we could use. The closest thing to a dress we found was her cute calico-ish dress that Grandma Oswald made once upon a time. She was wishing it had long sleeves like it shows in the books, but it was fine. We didn't have a pinafore, so we used an apron that used to belong to my great Grandma Lang. We topped off the ensemble with a shawl since it was a bit chilly that day. We braided her hair in two braids and added some matching hair ribbons, and she was good to go. She said most people guessed who she was and those who weren't sure said "Oh, yeah, you look just like her," when she told them..
All in all, not bad for a last minute scramble!

Too cute! Our school just started this, too, although theirs is only a week long event.
Bentley went as the Very Hungry Caterpillar and Cecily went as Alice in Wonderland. We just broke out the old Halloween costumes.
I am way impressed with the costumes you came up with!!!!
That sounds like so much fun! And the costumes were awesome! I have yet to read the Leven Thumps books (are they good?) so I, too, thought he looked like a Jedi, but now I know better. Great job! Especially in a pinch.
