Something Cute

My kids often say the cutest/funniest things and I often intend to write them down, but in the craziness that is my life, more often than not, I never get around to it and then end up forgetting. But I thought this latest was really cute and wanted to share it.

Yesterday at church I had taken Kaya to the mother's lounge (which is a fancy term for "closet with a chair in it"). Anyway, Spencer and Lynnsey followed me there and while I was feeding the baby they decided to play a game of hide and seek. Lynnsey hid repeatedly under the changing table and Spencer crouched in plain view on the floor by the chair with his eyes covered. When it was Spencer's turn to count, this is what he said: "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10...Eleven or not, here I come!"

Oh, that is so cute! I was laughing as hard at that one as I was at "the closet with a chair in it".

Bentley misses Spencer a lot and is talks about him every day.

Kids sure are funny.

The "closet with a chair in it" is way too true. Our mother's lounge makes me think the same thing. It seems like a total afterthought, "Oh, we don't have a mother's lounge but we do have an empty closet here, let's put a chair in it." It's totally inconvenient to get to (you have to go through two doors), and then it's tiny. It's awful if anyone is in there already, which does happen regularly since we have four units that meet in our building.

That is too cute....I love it. And you aptly named the mother's lounge. I was cleaning it the other day and wondered how you had room to even move. (I guess you could open those curtains over the window that looks out into the chapel, but as anyone sitting on the back row can turn around and look right back in at you, it's probably not a wise idea--no matter how confined you might feel. I wonder what that tiny cubicle with a window was originally intended for when the building was first built?)

To cute! I remember those days! and the feeling of dread when someone else needed to come in. I just started nursing in RS nobody seemed to care. :)

Ha ha ha ha ha! THAT is hilarious! Ian counts like this, "One, two, three, one, two, three, one, two, three," until he gets to a stopping point.

Our Mother's lounge is actually a small classroom where they hung a curtain, added a few soft chairs a changing table and voila!! The chairs were getting gross and smelled like sour milk - I was dreading going in there with baby - havn't been in there for YEARS, but my first time in there I was pleasantly surprised to find new chairs :) Very cool!!

I love "kid sayings"!!! It makes life so much more fun. I write them down on random scraps of paper and try to collect them in a folder.
The other day Adam told us what a father's blessing was - "it's when he puts his hands on your head and then says a really long prayer" :)
