BCAMSC Senior Recognition

Taylor has been able to spend the last four years attending part of his high school day at the Battle Creek Area Math and Science Center.  He has loved many of his experiences there and has formed some strong bonds with several teachers and students.  There were many times as his parents, that we thought maybe he would be better off just doing classes at his local high school because this was such a challenging program and he struggled to get decent grades at times.  But I guess the point is that Taylor was happy with his experience, and I did appreciate that he got to attend such a state of the art building and be with kids who had more in common with him.  In April, the school held a Senior Recognition ceremony, which was basically a graduation from the program.  Talk about making things seem real.  If he's graduating from this program, that means his high school graduation is right around the corner, which means we'll being saying goodbye to our first born son before we know it.  I know I sound like a broken record sometimes but I really can't figure out how time seems to go so fast!  I cannot believe that my oldest baby is already old enough to leave home! We're proud of you Taylor!

                                        

Spring Break and Easter

Unfortunately due to schools not working together to schedule spring break at the same time, I wound up having to babysit for one set of kids during our kids spring break.  Their dad is a teacher at a neighboring district and they had spring break the week before ours.  Since they normally don't come on Wednesdays, we had one day to spend doing a fun activity.  The kids decided they wanted to go to the Treehouse for the day. They had a great time and we were thankful that we at least had that day to play.

Okay, so not everyone was thrilled at the plan.  

Kendall, as usual made a little friend.  We can't go anywhere there are kids without them attaching themselves to Kendall! He loves it though.

Lynnsey made some friends too.

We had our traditional backyard Easter egg hunt. This year I helped hide the eggs, thinking between both Kalen and I we could remember where we hid them.  We didn't.  It still took forever for the older kids to locate their missing eggs.

We had a lovely Easter Sunday with a nice program at church and a delicious dinner afterward.  As usual, it was impossible to get even one picture with everyone looking at the camera and smiling (way to go Spencer!), but they're awfully beautiful kids anyway.

I love this one of Kaya with all the little girls in her Primary class all dressed up in their new Easter dresses.

The best part of Easter weekend was that the snow was finally melted and we were even able to go outside without a coat!

Treasure Island

We were so excited for our Albion Youth Theater to once again partner with Missoula Theater for a week long adventure in acting.  This year the did the play Treasure Island.  We had four kids participating this year.  It was a crazy week but they loved it and put on a fantastic performance.

Kendall was cast as one of Jim Hawkins ruffian friends, Lynnsey and Spencer were both villagers and Kaya was a seagull.

                                     

                                       

February

February was a lot like January except with less exciting things happening.  I did get a few photos though to document the month.

Taylor dressed up for Spirit week at the math and science center.  This one he went as Mr. Ecclestone from a Studio C sketch.

This one he went as Doctor Who with an identity crisis!  He combined characteristics from several of the various doctors. I'm told it was a big hit.

We said goodbye to Spencer's favorite chair.  Mom bought us another rocker and we had to make room for it somewhere.  Sister Fry from church had always admired this chair which was given to us by someone else in the branch.  So we offered it to her and she was more than thrilled to take us up on the offer.  But Spencer didn't want to part with it so he insisted we at least get a picture of him with it.

And of course, we had more snow... The kids were wondering if they would ever be able to use the swing set again.
